I - Installation

To install the software, doubleclick the "RSDownloader_setup.msi" you have download and follow the instructions. The installer will provide a startup icon on your desktop and in your start menu. If everything goes as it should, the following icon should be on your desktop: [INSERT IMAGE]

II - Usage

II - A - Starting the application

To start the application, either use the shortcut the installer has created on your desktop or in the start menu.

II - B - Logging in

When the program is started, you will be prompted to provide your credentials. If you just want to check some links, you can close this window (you won't be able to download any files if you haven't logged in though). In any normal case you will probably enter your credentials and press login. If your credentials are correct, the login window will dissapear and you can start downloading files.

II - C - Settings

II - C - Settings - 1 - Account

When you use the application for the first time, you should enter your account settings by selecting 'File -> Settings' or 'Account' on the 'Settings' panel on the sidebar. Here you can enter your credentials so they can be automatically loaded at startup (if you don't want to provide your password, you can always leave it empty...). If your username and password are filled in, you can enable the 'Auto-login' feature. If you enable this, the program will automatically log you in at application startup.

II - C - Settings - 2 - Preferences

On the 'Preferences' tab of the 'Settings' form, you can specify the number of simultaneous file transfers (uploads and downloads), this depends on how much your internet connection can handle, you should just start at 1 thread and increment if your downloadspeed (of each thread) exceeds 200-300 kbs. The 'Preferences' tab is also where you set up your default destination directory for the files you download. If you simple paste links to the download queue or load them from a list (without using the 'Add/Check links' form), the files you download will be saved in this directory (default is the C:\ drive, so you might want to change this...). If you use the 'Add/Check links' form, you can change the location files are saved before you add them to the queue. The preferences window also enables you to select a theme for the application. Custom themes can be created by adding  them to the themes folder, you can use the black theme in that folder as a starting point or use the palette editor by Krypton (find it at http://www.componentfactory.com/windows-forms-free.php).

II - D – Downloading and Uploading

II - D - Downloading - 1 - Grabbing Links

On the main downloadform and in the 'Add/Check links' form, you can use the CTRL-V (paste) combination to fetch all Rapidshare links from the clipboard data, these links are then added to the download queue or the check-queue ('Add/Check links' form).

II - D - Downloading - 2 - Loading and saving links to a file

The 'Add/Check links' form has functionality to fetch links from a file saved on disk. This file can be any text file (txt, html, ...) that has Rapidshare links in it. The program will then fetch all links from the file and load them into the check-queue (if you select 'Load list' in the main download form, the links will be added and downloaded to the default location).

II - D - Downloading - 3 - Checking links (using the 'Add/Check links' form)

If you want to check links to see if they are still online, open the 'Add/Check links' form from the sidebar (or just press CTRL-D). Once the form has opened you can press 'Grab links' on the right top of the form (or just CTRL-V) to add the links you've pasted to the check-queue. To start checking links, press 'Check links' on the top of the form. The program will check every link in the queue (checked or not) and if it is a working links, the checkbox (next to the link) will be enabled and the link will be green. To remove links from the check-queue, simply select them and press the delete key ('Del'). To add all the files you have marked (checkbox on the left of each link) to your queue, simply press the 'Add selected buttons on the lower right of the form. Optionally you can select a different download location than the default one. You can also supply a password for the links you have entered. This password will be saved in the 'passwords.txt' file in the download directory and you can also automatically copy the password to the clipboard by selecting a download in the main form, right clicking and selecting 'Copy password'.

II - D - Downloading - 4 - Pauzing / Resuming / Stopping downloads and uploads

Downloads can be pauzed at all times by selecting them on the download form and by pressing the 'Pause' icon (on the toolbar or in the right-click menu). If you pause these downloads, the queue will not continue downloading the other files in the queue, if you want this to happen, you should stop the files. If a download is stopped, the partial download won't be removed and you will still be able to restart it, but the download queue will be still active. Please note that uploads can’t be paused!

The main idea behind resuming file downloads is the following: if the program finds a file in the destination directory with the same filename, it will resume the download automatically, if you don't want this, you should delete the files manually.

If you want the download queue to stop processing (starting) files, click the 'Stop queue' button on the right top of the form, queue processing can be reenabled by pressing 'Start queue' on the right top.

II - D - Downloading - 5 - Loading / Saving / Restore a queue.

If you would want to save the current queue so you can resume it later, you can just close the program normally ('File' -> 'Exit'). After a restart you can select 'Queue -> Restore queue' to load the items you had in the queue when you last shut down the application. You also save and load queue files yourself, queue files (.rsq extension) contain the download url and download password of all files that were downloading, pauzed and queued (so not stopped files!). The fact that these queues contain the download destination implies that you can't interchange these files between computers (UNLESS you use a directory that exists on both computers...). If you want to pass links to someone, you can use the 'Save/load list' functions on the 'Add/Check links' form.

II - D - Downloading - 6 - Scheduling downloads

Some ISP (like Telenet Belgium), divide the download size they measure by 2 when you download after a certain time (like after 10 PM and before 7 AM), so you can actually download double the amount at night for the download quota. For this and some other scenario's, there is a functionality to start processing the download queue at a given time. To enable this, first type the time you want to start downloading on the 'Schedule' panel on the right menu bar. Then check the 'Enable scheduling' box. After this you should add the files to your download queue. If the entered time is reached, downloading will start.

II - D - Downloading - 7 - Operations with the download queue

If you want to remove files from the download queue, simply select them and press 'Delete' ('Del'), or right click and select 'Remove selected'. When you delete downloads that are already downloading, the files are not deleted. If you want to move downloads up (so they will be processed earlier), select the downloads you want to move up and click the 'Move Up' button (Green arrow pointing upwards). To move downloads to a lower priority, select and press the 'Move Down' button.

If your download queue is filled with Stopped or Finished downloads, you can remove these by pressing the buttons on the toolbar.
